THE PEOPLE BEHIND NORTHLAKE DRIVELINE INC.

Northlake Driveline was incorporated in 1990 by the father-son team of Leonard and Kevin Brown.  Already the owners/operators of a successful machining and fabrication business, they expanded operations to include first-rate driveline repair and replacement services.  In 2000, services expanded again to include custom-built exhaust systems.

Today, twelve years later, the various types of vehicles serviced have included: private automobiles, farm equipment, tractor-trailers, recreational vehicles, and classic cars.   Both father and son are still involved in day-to-day shop operations.  They believe that personally assisting each customer is the only way to ensure optimum service.   And they know that the company's best asset is a highly qualified staff, ready to confidently answer all questions and perform all repairs and modifications to the customer's satisfaction.

Time constraints can be difficult.  However, with today's modern communications and shipping methods, customers nationwide are assisted in a timely manner.  Measurements and instruction can be faxed to our office.   Questions and planning can be handled via e-mail or conference calls.  UPS shipments arrive and depart on a daily basis.  Emergency situations are given top priority.  Whether it's a large fleet of trucks or a teenager's "hot rod", any job accepted is completed quickly and efficiently.  And, of course, customer satisfaction is always guaranteed.

Driveshaft B. has been manufactured in our shop.  Driveshaft C. has been fabricated using existing driveshaft parts.  Driveshafts B. and C. are examples of what a driveshaft in excellent condition looks like.  Having your driveshaft remanufactured or fabricated from your existing parts can save you up to 50% over purchasing a new driveshaft.

THIS MONTH'S FEATURED TIP:

Before ordering your driveshaft, you must take specific measurements:
1.  Measure from the tip of the transmission output shaft to the centerline of U-joint at the third member.  This will be the flat surface where the U-bolt hole is drilled.
2.  Measure the output shaft protrusion. (See diagram)
3.  In addition to these measurements, you will need to identify the transmission make and model and the differential make and model.
4.  The vehicle must be measured as it operates.  Jacking up the vehicle will change your dimensions.
5.  If your vehicle has a bolt-on transmission yoke, measure to the face.
6.  When you install U-bolts, do not over-tighten them. (see chart)
